The book of Esther is the only book in the Bible that does not mention the name of God. Esther is not quoted in the New Testament. Neither Mordecai, Esther, nor the Feast of Purim is mentioned elsewhere in Scripture. The Dead Sea Scrolls contain fragments of each Old Testament book, with the exception of Esther.
